Sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis is a chronic progressive autoimmune disorder characterized by the formation of granulomas, which are clusters of immune cells that attempt to contain the invading microorganisms. The condition usually affects the lungs, but can also affect other organs such as the skin, eyes, and gastrointestinal tract. The hallmark of sarcoidosis is the formation of granulomas, which are usually non-cancerous but can cause progressive lung damage. Treatment typically involves a combination of immunosuppressive medications, such as corticosteroids, and antibiotics to control the formation of granulomas and prevent their progression. Sarcoidosis is a chronic condition that can be life-threatening, and early detection and treatment are crucial for effective management.
